Haydenfilms Significantly Upgrades Website With Latest Technology; Opens Public Judging for 4.0 Festival Finalists

Besides easier voting, www.haydenfilms.com now offers more advertising options for sponsors, new social features, user profiles, expanded film content, sharing mechanisms, etc.

KUTZTOWN, Pa., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Haydenfilms has significantly upgraded its website, www.haydenfilms.com, and announced that public voting to select the four finalists in its 4.0 Online Film Festival will run from Dec. 10, 2008 through Feb. 10, 2009. One of the first solely online festivals, Haydenfilms continues to push the technology envelope to support independent and student filmmakers across the globe.

Hayden Craddolph, president and founder of Haydenfilms, an independent film production and distribution company, said the website has a new look and new technology that will make it an even more effective Internet resource.

"We are very excited about the changes," said Craddolph. "The new components include user profile accounts; social bookmarks; upgraded Flash Player; an expanded film detail section; rating, comments and sharing mechanisms; and the capability to host content from film festivals worldwide. Equally important, we now offer our sponsors a pre-roll and banner/customizable advertising solution."

Craddolph said the extensive website upgrade delayed voting for the 4.0 Online Film Festival. "We hope our new site will connect people with the world through film and that everyone will support us as they have for the last three festivals. To celebrate, we are awarding a $1,000 cash prize to a Haydenfilms.com member selected at random who casts his or her vote for at least 10 of our finalists."

The Haydenfilms 4.0 Online Film Festival -- open to all student and independent filmmakers -- used an expert panel of judges to select the top 53 films from hundreds of entries from nearly 20 countries. The public votes for the best four films through Feb. 10, 2009, one of which will receive the top $10,000 cash prize at a ceremony scheduled to be held in the summer of 2009. Vote on the 53 final films at www.haydenfilms.com.

Craddolph started the Haydenfilms Online Film Festival in October 2004 as a way for filmmakers to showcase their works online. It accepts all genres including shorts (under 10 minutes), animation, experimental and documentary films with a maximum length of 35 minutes.
