For the fifth consecutive year, Troop Greetings will be available to Comcast Digital Cable customers through the "Get Local" category of Comcast's signature On Demand service until the end of January 2009. Online greetings will also be accessible through Comcast's Internet portal, www.comcast.com, starting December 23.
More than 1,000 messages are available to millions of customers throughout Comcast service areas in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia.
Hundreds of videotapes from Army/Air Force Hometown News Service were secured and edited into short video greetings for viewers and high-speed Internet customers. Each message includes the service member's name and hometown, and some messages include the serviceperson's family. Featured messages are from military personnel and civilian staff stationed around the world at bases in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Japan, Alaska, Korea and other remote locations, as well as those serving as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
