Bloomberg News Expands in the Middle East with Jerusalem Bureau
NEW YORK, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing its commitment to excellence in international newsgathering, Bloomberg LP expanded its news operation yesterday with the opening of its newest bureau, in Jerusalem, Israel. The Bloomberg Jerusalem bureau will expand BLOOMBERG NEWS(R) services in the Gulf region and beyond and augments the current Bloomberg bureau in Ramat Gan.
Calev Ben-David joins Bloomberg as Jerusalem bureau chief. Ben-David comes from the Jerusalem Post, where he served as senior analyst and writer. Ben-David is a frequent guest commentator on Israeli and Middle Eastern affairs for a variety of media including BBC, Al-Jazeera, IBA English News, Radio Kol Hai and ITN.
Peter Hirschberg joins Bloomberg as the new Jerusalem chief correspondent. Hirschberg previously established Haaretz.com and served as its editor, and was editor of Haaretz English Edition. Most recently, Hirschberg founded the Fanz Media Group in Israel.
Bloomberg's David Rosenberg has been appointed senior economics correspondent for the region.
