42 Talk Radio Hosts Come to Washington with Message for Congress and the Next Administration: Reform Immigration Policy Without Amnesty
WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On September 10 and 11, 42 talk radio hosts from all across the country will be broadcasting from Washington, D.C., as part of the annual Hold Their Feet to the Fire event. The message they will drive home is that in 2009, the American public expects the new Congress and the new administration to enact real immigration reform that does not offer amnesty for illegal aliens. The talk radio hosts will be joined by CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight, whose September 10th broadcast will originate from the site of Hold Their Feet to the Fire.
In 2007, Hold Their Feet to the Fire was held just prior to the introduction of Senate legislation that would have granted amnesty to millions of immigration lawbreakers. The nationwide radio event helped galvanize unprecedented public opposition to the bill and led to its defeat.
Hold Their Feet to the Fire 2008 is being organized by the FAIR Congressional Task Force and Roger Hedgecock of KOGO Radio in San Diego. Hold Their Feet to the Fire organizers will join with leading members of Congress for a Capitol Hill news conference to discuss the urgent need for real immigration reform in 2009. Also included at the news conference will be Jamiel Shaw Sr. and Sgt. Anita Shaw, whose 17-year-old son was murdered by an illegal alien gang member while Sgt. Shaw was serving Iraq.
