'UNCONVENTIONAL '08' Hottest Ticket at Dem Convention Wednesday Night

Free concert hosted by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom features Silversun Pickups, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Cold War Kids, Nada Surf, DJ Z-Trip and special appearances by comedienne Sarah Silverman; singer/songwriters Matthew Caws, Zooey Deschanel, Ben Gibbard, Jenny Lewis and Jonathan Rice.

DENVER, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Organizers of UNCONVENTIONAL '08, today announced that more than 3,500 people have signed up asking for tickets to watch a powerful lineup of bands perform during the DNC Convention in Denver on Wednesday, August 27th at 6:00 pm at Manifest Hope Gallery, making the concert aimed at young Democrats the hottest party in town tonight.

UNCONVENTIONAL '08 is being hosted by Manifest Hope Gallery and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and celebrates youth participation in the 2008 election by honoring groups such as Young Democrats of America, College Democrats of America and Generation Obama, Students for Barack Obama and Young Voter PAC with this free concert.

UNCONVENTIONAL '08 will include a special appearance by comedienne Sarah Silverman and feature musical performances on the Street Party Stage by: Nada Surf; Cold War Kids; Clap Your Hands Say Yeah; the Silversun Pickups; and DJ Z-Trip.

UNCONVENTIONAL '08 will also feature performances on an intimate invite only VIP Gallery Collaborative Stage by: singer/songwriters Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie); Jenny Lewis; Jonathan Rice; Matthew Caws (Nada Surf); and Zooey Deschanel (She & Him).

The event will be held at the Manifest Hope Art Gallery on Wednesday evening, August 27, 2008.
