Integra5 Converged Services Platform Deployed by Videotron to Blend illico(TM) Digital TV and Cable Telephony Services to Add Value and Convenience for Subscribers
Leading integrated communications provider using i5's TV Caller ID to bring caller ID and call logs to TVs for $2CDN per month offering new communications experience to customers
WOBURN, Mass., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Integra5, the leader in 'blending the bundle' into new communications experiences that span multiple consumer devices, today announced that Videotron has deployed its i5 Converged Services Platform (i5 CSP) to offer the i5 TV Caller ID application to subscribers throughout its market. The deployment is part of Videotron's on-going effort to grow revenue generating units and enhance the value of its bundled services through innovative convergence features that are designed to make subscribers' lives simpler and easier.
An integrated communications provider offering cable TV, broadband data, telephony and wireless services across its network that passes more than 2.5 million homes in the Province of Quebec, Videotron is the largest pay-television and Internet access services provider in Quebec and third largest cable operator in Canada. Videotron is launching the new service -- branded illico(TM) Caller ID -- this month to all its subscribers. The service can be purchased on its own for $2CDN per month, which includes the first three months for free, and is also available as part of the optional telephony feature package that includes Caller ID (telephone), Voice Mail, Voice Messages by E-mail (for Videotron broadband customers), Call Forwarding, Call Waiting and 3-Way Calling for $10CDN per month.
"More than 50% of our customers subscribe to two or more of our services, so offering new ways to blend those services into new experiences across devices highlights our focus on convergence and leadership in service innovation," said Videotron Vice-President of Technology Development, Michel Allard. "Integra5's platform provides a fast and effective way to roll-out converged services that do not require any new hardware or a visit to subscribers' homes and yet still empower subscribers to manage, customize and control illico(TM) Caller ID to optimize their communications and entertainment experience with Videotron."
Integra5's TV Caller ID application displays the name and number of incoming phone calls on subscribers' TV screens before it comes up on the phone and supports personalized management of multiple phone lines and TV set-top boxes per home. The application also has two other TV-based features, including a call log that lists the names, numbers, dates and times of recent calls, as well as call settings so subscribers can turn the caller ID notifications on or off, specify how long they appear on the TV screen and other personal preferences.
"From being the first with IP-based cable telephony in Canada to its recent DOCSIS 3.0 roll-out, Videotron is widely recognized as an innovative operator delivering leading-edge products and services to its subscribers," said Meredith Flynn-Ripley, CEO at Integra5. "Videotron's deployment of the i5 CSP once again reinforces its leadership in advanced services with this initial step in blending the bundle representing the beginning of a whole new category of value-added services that can be added to bring value, convenience and simplicity to subscribers' communications experience."
The open, network-based i5 CSP -- chosen by more than 30 operators worldwide -- scales to millions of subscribers and requires no truck rolls or in-home equipment. The platform works in cable, IPTV and hybrid network environments, enabling any service provider to rapidly deploy real-time converged services across TVs, PCs and mobile and landline phones.
