HDNet World Report Journalists Granted Rare Access to Disputed Territories

HDNet World Report, already in country to report on the tensions before the latest hostilities broke out, had exclusive access to the breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abhkazia, which are now at the center of this fighting.

The HDNet World Report team was granted interviews with key Georgian officials, including Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili, and other principal figures in Abkhazia.

Cameraman Jason Maloney and producer/correspondent Kira Kay were in the Georgian capital of Tblisi when the war broke out, having interviewed Saakashvili only hours earlier.
