NEW YORK, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The second episode of the smash hit "Army Wives" drew 1,975,652 W25-54 -- the most ever for an original drama telecast in Lifetime Television's 24-year history -- demolishing the record set during last week's season premiere. This also became the highest-rated W25-54 drama telecast on cable in 2008.

During its Sunday, June 15 (10PM, ET/PT) airing, the critically acclaimed "Army Wives" also averaged a robust 4.2 million P2+, 3.2 million W18+ and a 3.5 household rating.

The #1 2008 cable drama among W18-34, W18-49, W25-54 and W18+, "Army Wives" has also established itself as a true cross-platform hit. In the past 10 days, streaming of full episodes at myLifetime.com is almost 12 times greater (1,192 percent) than for the same period last year (6/1-6/10/07 vs. 6/6-6/15/08). Page views were up 46 percent year-to-year over that same 10-day period.

Filmed on location in Charleston, S.C., "Army Wives" stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller and Catherine Bell. Mark Gordon and The Mark Gordon Company's president of production, Deborah Spera, serve as executive producers. Nick Thiel and series creator Katherine Fugate also serve as executive producers.
