Over 100 Country Music Stars Provide Their Autographs for the One-of-a-Kind 'Country Music Truck'
AUBURN, Ind., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Vehicle number four in Ward Leber's Signature Series will go to the highest bidder this Saturday May 31st, 2008 at the Kruse Auction Park in Auburn Indiana. All proceeds will be donated to the Child Safety Network (CSN). The non-profit organization is now celebrating its 19th year of National Public Service.
A Classic 1955 Grand National Show winning Chevy Cameo was officially selected by Leber and the Country Music Association (CMA) because Chevy is the official ride of country music for the CMA.
The project took over a year to complete and thousands of hours of work to gather all of the autographs needed to make the Truck the most valuable piece of country music memorabilia ever created. It all began in Nashville, TN at the 41st Annual Country Music Awards. Award winners autographed the truck and more than a dozen walked a long way in the rain and wind just to be sure they added their autographs to support CSN.
Eroca Daniel, CSN's Director of Corporate Communication, obtained all of the famous autographs by engaging the help of both the Country Music Hall, and individually reaching out to the stars. A special Country Music Plaque was created for the stars to sign as it would be too expensive to ship the truck all over the world to gather the autographs.
Wynona Judd was the first to autograph the vehicle.
"I'm proud of the work that Child Safety Network has done to make children safer over the past 19 years. I'm especially pleased that the Country Music Association has decided to assist by asking all of the stars that attend the CMA Awards this year to add their signatures to the Country Music Truck. This will allow CSN to have a successful charity auction and turn the proceeds into urgently needed funds to teach our nation's children how to avoid becoming victims of abuse, abduction and injury," said Wynonna Judd.
A complete list of all the stars that have provided their autographs can be found at http://www.csn.org/. Just click on the Charity Auction Button, or visit http://www.countrymusictruck.org/. Bidders may contact Ward Leber at (619) 300-7921 or visit http://www.kruse.com/.
Ward Leber, the Founder of the Child Safety Network and creator of the Signature Series vehicles said: "The Country Music Truck is the fourth vehicle in our 22 vehicle series campaign. We designed the Signature Series to publicize http://www.csn.org/ where parents have free access to our national database of Registered Sex Offenders, Downloadable Fingerprint Cards, Child I.D. Cards, DNA kits, along with music, videos, and award-winning resources designed to make America a safer place to live."
The website was entirely designed and managed by volunteers from Lockheed Martin. John Sonnen of Lockheed Martin was honored by the PTA and CSN with a 2008 National Child Safety Award.
"My team was proud of all the hard work put into http://www.csn.org/ and http://www.countrymusictruck.org/. Lockheed has over 140,000 employees and we are encouraged to volunteer to support charities in our community. I can't think of a more worthy cause than using technology to protect American families," said John Sonnen.
About CSN: Since 1989 CSN has been a national leader in the delivery of free resources and programs designed to protect children. CSN has been endorsed by over 300 U.S. representatives including the current and past three presidential administrations. The past three Signature Series vehicles have sold at auction for an average of $500,000 each.
