LOS ANGELES, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- 18,000 of Los Angeles' most dedicated volunteers will be honored with the President's Volunteer Service Award as celebrities, including actresses Leyla Milani, Isabella Cascarano and LA's hottest musical guests, appear at CelebrateLA (http://www.vcla.net/ and http://www.myspace.com/celebratela). With the support of Guitar Center and LA-based Music Connection Magazine, the talent line-up for the inaugural CelebrateLA 2008, taking place Sunday, April 27th at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA, will include Cristian Castro, Orgullo Cafe, Linda Lopez, Ahui and Nydia Rojas, who will join rockers We Are Lions, Australia's Small Mercies and Music Connection Magazine's Best Kept Secret performer, Mara -- all of whom will perform live for LA's best volunteers.

CelebrateLA 2008 will honor and recognize the volunteer contributions made by thousands of men and women in Los Angeles County this year. The Volunteer Center of Los Angeles-Assistance League of Southern California also announced that this year a record 18,000 President's Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) will be presented at this inaugural event. The award is issued by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation on behalf of the President of the United States.

The President's Volunteer Service Award is only one way that VCLA-ALSC will pay tribute to the outstanding volunteers in Los Angeles County. VCLA-ALSC will also bestow CelebrateLA Awards to a select group of volunteers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist those in need. Admission is FREE and activities on the day of the event include live concerts, arts & crafts, awards, carnival games, giveaways, prizes, information booths and much more.
