First Flight from L.A. to Seattle Celebrated with 'Land the Gig' Battle of the

Bands Concert followed by a Live Performance by the Godfather of indie rock

Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore

Virgin America celebrates launch of service between two West Coast music capitols Los Angeles and Seattle with a party at The Showbox. Emerging Seattle bands will compete live at the "Land the Gig" event to win their own music video that will later debut on Virgin America's in-flight music video library. Celebrity guest judges include music luminaries like The Donnas, actor/musician Lukas Haas, Cisco Adler, and Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads. The event will also include live performances by indie rocker Thurston Moore, formerly of Sonic Youth, as well as MTV-U's winning band, Bamboo Shoots at Seattle music institution, the Showbox at the Market.
