'Project Rebirth', A Living History of the Human Spirit Coping with Disaster, Announces Relaunch of Official Website

NEW YORK, April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- "Project Rebirth", a film chronicling of the strength of the human spirit coping with disaster in the aftermath of 9/11, today launched its newly redesigned website, www.projectrebirth.org. Directed by Hollywood filmmaker Jim Whitaker, the film will intertwine time-lapse photography of the minute-by-minute redevelopment of the WTC site with first-hand testimony and footage from the lives of ten people coping post 9/11.

With the goal of a global commercial distribution of the feature-length documentary, the website tells the story of Rebirth's mission and progress; it articulates the short- and long-term goals of Project Rebirth as it preserves a living history of the human and architectural legacy of 9/11 while providing visitors with a glimpse into both the emotional and physical response of New York City to 9/11.

Rebirth's website involves and educates visitors through various first- hand vehicles; including interviews with our critically acclaimed staff, photo stills of the World Trade Center taken by Project Rebirth's director of photography, Tom Lappin, and details of Rebirth's plan to endow a Project Rebirth Center for victims of and first responders to situations of traumatic loss.

Jim Whitaker, founder and director, said: "The launch of our new website reflects the progress we have made over the past six years and the extent of the work that remains ahead. Our team's work to honor the spirit of the people and city of New York as they rebuild and cope with the events 9/11 can be seen on the site. This site is the most extensive articulation yet of our long term strategy and plans, which are focused on ensuring that the legacy of 9/11 is honored, and that the nation and the world remembers this terrible event with the aim of helping to avoid and better respond to similar situations in the future."
