Born April 25, 1908, Murrow was a pioneer of both radio and television news, and his integrity, honesty and diligence set the standards for network news. Murrow, who died at age 57 on April 27, 1965, is the subject of a special exhibit in the Newseum's Internet, TV & Radio Gallery, and the story of his historic live broadcasts from World War II London is vividly recounted in "I-Witness," the Newseum's 4-D feature film. Marvin Kalb, currently the Edward R. Murrow Professor of Practice, Emeritus, and senior fellow at Harvard's Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy, was the last correspondent to be hired by Murrow at CBS. In this special Newseum program, Kalb and Bob Edwards, radio host and the author of Edward R. Murrow and the Birth of Broadcast Journalism, will offer insights on the man behind the legend, the evolution of broadcast journalism since the time of Murrow, and why the legendary broadcaster's influence endures today. Following the program, Edwards will sign copies of his book.

Inside Media gives Newseum visitors the story behind the story through interviews with journalists and newsmakers. The program format offers the audience an opportunity to ask questions or make comments.
