AARP Launches 'AARP TV' Original Programming on Retirement Living TV

Inside E Street and My Generation to Debut: March 10 & 11

WASHINGTON, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- AARP, the largest membership organization for people 50+, today announced the launch of AARP TV, a franchise that will create original lifestyle and news content catering to the boomer and 50+ demographic. AARP TV's first two syndicated television shows -- Inside E Street and My Generation -- will debut on March 10 and 11, 2008, respectively, and be distributed through and air on Retirement Living Television (RLTV), which reaches more than 29 million households nationwide. These two weekly half-hour shows extend from AARP's lifestyle and news platforms as well as select single-topic specials.

"AARP TV is yet another way to reach and deliver valuable information to boomers and 50+ America and these new programs are just the latest examples of our effort to provide our audience with content that is both useful and entertaining," said Kevin Donnellan, Chief Communications Officer, AARP. "There's a proven demand in the market to serve the 50+ demographic and with more than 29 million viewers, RLTV was a natural fit for us and we couldn't be more thrilled with this new relationship."

My Generation is a lively lifestyle magazine show that will feature nationally known experts covering issues from health and money to relationships and volunteering. Hosted by Greg Williams (former sports anchor and winner of the prestigious Communicator Award) and Cynthia Steele Vance (CBS Morning News, ABCNEWS One), My Generation will air Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 3 P.M. ET on RLTV. The show's key areas of focus include health, money, relationships, entertainment, volunteering and getting the most out of life -- all combined with inspiring profiles of individuals who make a difference by giving back and connecting with others.

AARP TV's new consumer affairs program Inside E Street will be hosted by veteran journalist Sheilah Kast (ABC News, CNN, NPR) and air at 3 P.M. ET on Mondays and Fridays. The show will debate hot topics of the day and include news-makers and key opinion leaders, offering a balanced program that will appeal to a broad audience. Inside E Street will also follow issues before Congress and key state legislatures across the country.

"AARP is an organization that has been serving the 50+ market for 50 years. As a newcomer, RLTV appreciates the benefits of partnering with such a powerhouse pioneer. We are pleased that AARP has recognized the value in teaming up with RLTV: a cable network who's made it their mission to change not only the way people watch television, but the way they live their lives," said Brad Knight, President, RLTV.

AARP TV's new programs will contribute to RLTV's steady growth and boost its strong brand recognition. The network launched its slate of programming in September 2006 with content designed to inform, involve, and inspire seniors by offering information on finances, health and fitness, politics and social issues as well as entertainment based shows. RLTV's unique programming can be seen on Direct TV (channel 223) and Comcast CN8.

In addition to RLTV, AARP TV's programming will also be distributed via http://www.aarp.org/ in several formats. Inside E Street and My Generation will be viewable as complete shows and will also be edited into specific segments pertaining to individual channels on http://www.aarp.org/, such as the health channel on the site.
