Legendary Surf-Punk Band 'Agent Orange' Presents Signed Bass Guitar to Slidebar Cafe
James Levesque presents his signed bass guitar to Fullerton's Slidebar Cafe
FULLERTON, Calif., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- James Levesque, bass guitarist for the legendary surf-punk band Agent Orange, presented his signed bass guitar to Fullerton's Slidebar Cafe. Accepting the guitar on behalf of the restaurant was Slidebar's founder, Sean Francis.
The guitar, a G&L bass, was personally given to Levesque by Leo Fender, the father of the electric bass guitar. Coincidentally, the parking lot of the Slidebar is considered rock-and-roll holy ground, as it was once the location of one of Leo Fender's earliest guitar factories.
Originally from Placentia, California, Agent Orange is a surf-punk band that gained attention in the early 80s with the song "Bloodstains". The band was one of the first bands to pioneer what would later be known as the skate-core scene. Their last album, Sonic Snake Session, was released in 2003.
The Slidebar Cafe, located at 122 E. Commonwealth Avenue in downtown Fullerton, CA is a rock-and-roll restaurant and bar that celebrates the history of Orange County music. Recognized as North Orange County's #1 bar and grill, the restaurant's decor features memorabilia from OC music luminaries such as No Doubt, The Offspring and Social Distortion. The bar is owned by Sean Francis and Jeremy Popoff, the lead guitarist for the pop-punk band Lit. More information can be found at http://www.myspace.com/Theslidebar.
