More Americans Living Paycheck to Paycheck

Sixty-seven percent of American employees are living paycheck to paycheck, according to results released from the 2007 "Getting Paid In America" survey.

The online survey by the American Payroll Association asked respondents how difficult it would be to meet their current financial obligations if their paycheck were delayed for a week. An overwhelming 67 percent of respondents said they'd find it difficult to meet their financial obligations if their paycheck were delayed. This is a two percent increase from 2006, when 65 percent of respondents reported living paycheck to paycheck.

Americans eating out less amid economic concerns, says RBC Capital Markets

Fifty-four percent of Americans say they will eat out at restaurants less over the next three months. That's according to a survey of one-thousand people released in conjunction with the R-B-C Capital Markets Annual Consumer Conference, attended by some of the nation's leading restaurant and consumer company executives and investors.

According to the study, even 35 percent of those Americans with household incomes over 50-thousand dollars said they would eat out less, and 62 percent of Americans making less than 25-thousand annually said they would eat out less. In fact, the study showed that Americans already have tightened their belts, with two in five acknowledging that they are dining out less frequently today than six months ago.

Burlington Coat Factory Kicks off National Coat Drive for Families in Need

Burlington Coat Factory has launched its inaugural "One Warm Coat Drive" national coat collection to bring warmth to families in need. The drive, which runs through November eleventh, is being held in partnership with One Warm Coat and The Salvation Army; donated coats will be distributed through over 100 local service organizations from coast to coast.
