SEPTA Set for Busy Weekend at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex

Phillies Baseball and Beyonce Concert Expected To Draw Fans and Traffic Congestion to South Philadelphia Sports Complex

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The SEPTA Broad Street Line will provide the most convenient and cost effective route to the weekend Phillies-Atlanta Braves series at Citizen's Bank Park and the special Beyonce Knowles concert at the Wachovia Center on Friday, August 10.

Riders traveling to the South Philadelphia Sports Complex on the Broad Street Line will avoid the expected traffic jams in the area and travel in air conditioned comfort to the SEPTA Pattison Station which is only a short walk away from the stadium and the Wachovia Center.

For the 7:35 p.m. Phillies-Braves game and the 8 p.m. Beyonce concert on Friday (August 10), SEPTA Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:28 p.m., 6:38 p.m. and 6:48 p.m. en route to Pattison Station.

In addition, for the 7:05 p.m. Phillies-Braves game on Saturday (August 11), Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:08 p.m., 6:18 p.m. and 6:28 p.m. For the final game of the series on Sunday (August 12) scheduled to start at 8:05 p.m., Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 7:08 p.m., 7:18 p.m. and 7:28 p.m. Regularly scheduled Broad Street Line local trains will also be in service throughout the weekend

After the events, local and express trains will be standing by to provide northbound service to Fern Rock.

Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, RaceVine, City Hall and WalnutLocust Stations en route to Pattison Station. The express trip from City Hall takes only about eight minutes. Local trains take only 11 minutes to travel to the Sports Complex from City Hall.
