VSA arts Brings 4 Wheel City to Washington for Family Arts Festival

VSA arts Brings 4 Wheel City to Washington for Family Arts Festival

WASHINGTON, June 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- VSA arts will bring 4 Wheel City, an urban hip-hop group, to Columbus Circle outside Union Station at 3 p.m. on June 8 and at 2 p.m. on June 9 as part of its annual Start with the Arts Family Festival.

Founders Tapwaterz and Ricfire started the group to promote awareness of accessibility issues after gun violence left them both paralyzed. Their music discusses life with a disability and also opens up frank discussion on other urban issues, such as gang violence. 4 Wheel City's music shows that people in wheelchairs are no different from anyone else and hold an important place in society.

"4 Wheel City's music tackles issues of equality and disability head-on," says Soula Antoniou, president of VSA arts. "It's an important message and a dynamite show. I hope everyone can come out to the festival."

VSA arts' annual Start with the Arts Family Festival, a celebration of the arts throughout the month of June, focuses on children, parents, and community through visual art exhibitions, live music and theatrical performances, and two days of activities that will take place at Union Station.
