SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- On 16 May 2007, the watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen celebrates the online world premiere of the film version of the play "The Interrogation of Leo and Lisa", with two time Oscar Winner Kevin Spacey in the main role. The stage play was originally performed on the occasion of the IWC gala evening at the SIHH Watch Fair and will be made available to a wide audience at http://www.iwc.com/.

What was presented exclusively to the around 1,400 invited IWC guests as the high point of the "Serata di Leonardo", will soon go around the world as a film premiere on a special micro site at http://www.iwc.com/. Two time Oscar Winner Kevin Spacey produced the play "The Interrogation of Leo and Lisa" specially for IWC. Spacey even took it upon himself to play the leading role in this first performance. As a dominant, boorish and autocratic inquisitor with the mission to address the question of Mona Lisa's smile, he was outstanding opposite BAFTA winner Thandie Newton (Crash) and Elliot Cowan (Alexander).

Spacey's 15-minute theatre performance at the "Serata di Leonardo" was recorded by a film crew in high-definition quality. To make this world premiere accessible to a wide public, the lavish production will go online as a short film on the IWC Web site on 16 May 2007. An additional Making-of shows not only clips from the rehearsals and a look behind the scenes, but also a good-humoured Kevin Spacey, who is truly in his element on the stage. Spacey, who caused a stir as a consummate character actor in cinema classics such as "Seven", "The Usual Suspects", "L.A. Confidential" and "American Beauty", took over in 2003 as Artistic Director of The Old Vic, one of the oldest theatres in London.
