LOS ANGELES, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Ninon de Vere De Rosa, Founder and Executive Director of KidsTalk Foundation, Inc. and its award-winning television show "Voices of Tomorrow," was named the recipient of the prestigious Women Making A Difference Award, in the category "Rising Star." Selected for this honor from among a stellar group of highly qualified professionals, the award highlights De Rosa's achievements over the past ten years.
The Women Making A Difference Award is presented by the Los Angeles Business Journal, a well-respected Los Angeles media outlet that has been recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of women as corporate executives, business owners, rising stars, volunteers, and philanthropists. This was the sixteenth year for the award program. Honorees are women who inspire, and succeed in helping, communities around the world.
The winning nomination for Ninon de Vere De Rosa came from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, which has worked with Ninon on numerous community outreach projects over the years. The award recognizes Ninon's global contributions and achievements over the past decade. During that time, she has expanded KidsTalk, which is serving over a thousand orphans in Kenya, Africa as well doing outreach in Colombia, Peru, and Switzerland. Additionally, KidsTalk established a Los Angeles County Juvenile Hall Outreach Program aimed at giving incarcerated youth access to employment and community resources prior to their release. This marks the ninetieth award KidsTalk has received over the past decade.
KidsTalk Foundation was founded in 1996 by Ninon de Vere De Rosa. The organization gives young people a voice in society through educational programs, juvenile hall outreach, global assistance, and its hit television talk show, "Voices of Tomorrow," which airs in Los Angeles on Channel 36, the Educational Station and the Beverly Hills Channel 6 Station, is seen by more than two million viewers in Southern California on a daily basis. Hosted by Ninon, who is also the show's Executive Producer, it revolves around a new topic every day that allows young people to reflect on issues that affect them in their daily lives. With topics ranging from Teens and Gangs, to Teens and the Media, Kids with Cancer, Life in Juvenile Hall, and even Movie Star Teens, KidsTalk "Voices of Tomorrow" covers a broad spectrum in providing quality educational programming aimed at the younger generation and their families. To date, with a total of approximately four hundred shows produced, the show has garnered a total of ninety wards, including twenty Telly awards, one of the television industries' highest honors.
