ABC Daytime Stars Make Debut Appearance at 2007 CMA Music Festival
The Talent Host an ABC 'Fun in the Sun,' Festival Concerts and Meet Fans
NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For the first time, the stars of ABC's "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and "General Hospital" will make their first appearance during the 2007 CMA Music Festival, June 7-10, in Nashville. The four-day party and music celebration will air as a special, "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock," Monday, July 23 (9:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC.
"We are delighted to have ABC daytime stars participating in the Festival for the first time," said Tammy Genovese, CMA Chief Operating Officer. "some of the actors were in Nashville for the CMA Awards last year and were an immediate hit with our fans and artists. There really are a lot of similarities between the two - and at the heart of both industries is a dedicated fan base. It is a pleasure to welcome the ABC daytime actors to our premiere concert event."
"We are thrilled to participate in this year's CMA Music Festival to reach out to our fans and to meet new ones," said Brian Frons, President, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group. "Many of our actors crossover into the music world on Broadway and in Country and we share many of the same fans."
Actors participating in CMA Music Festival include:
"All My Children" -- Justin Bruening (Jamie Martin) and Colin Egglesfield (Joshua Madden)
"One Live to Live" -- Kathy Brier ("Marcie McBain"), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer"), and John-Paul Lavoisier ("Rex Balsom")
"General Hospital" -- Becky Herbst ("Elizabeth Webber") and Greg Vaughan ("Lucky Spencer")
They'll be busy! The actors will be signing autographs and posing for photos in the ABC booth (No. 234) in the Fan Fair(R) Exhibit Hall (schedule and actors subject to change).
Friday, June 8:
11:00 AM-12:30 PM -- Kathy Brier and John-Paul Lavoisier
12:30-2:00 PM -- Justin Bruening and Colin Egglesfield
Saturday, June 9:
11:00 AM-12:30 PM -- Becky Herbst and Greg Vaughan
The actors will also host concert performances at the Greased Lightning(R) Daytime Stages at Riverfront Park, participate in activities in the Chevy(TM) Sports Zone, and introduce artists Friday, June 8 at the Nightly Concerts at LP Field.
Their most anticipated appearance will be ABC's "Fun in the Sun"; a free event Saturday, June 9 (1:30-3:30 PM/CT) at the Wildhorse Saloon. During the event, fans will have an opportunity to be on TV and get up-close and personal
with their favorite stars. "Fun in the Sun" will include interviews, performances, dance lessons, and many more activities for the fans and stars.
"Connecting fans with the celebrities are artists they love is at the heart of what CMA Music Festival is all about - and ABC's 'Fun in the Sun' continues that tradition," Genovese said. "It will be a great afternoon of entertainment."
The actors will also make a stop at the ABC Block Party, which takes place on Saturday, June 9, from 1:00-5:00 PM/CT at the stage facing Fifth Avenue between the Nashville Arena and the Hilton Hotel. Fans will enjoy performances, giveaways and special activities at this free event.
