LOS ANGELES, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Tracy Lyons' new video for her powerful and moving environmental anthem "Save Me" has just been added to the Earthday Network's (EDN) online portal www.earthday.net.
The song was first featured on Lyons' latest album "I Will," and is a heartfelt wake-up call for people to heal themselves and the earth through a new consciousness of sustainable thought, practices and action.
A committed environmental activist, Lyons is a strong supporter of EDN, founded by the organizers of the inaugural Earth Day in 1970. Every year since then on April 22, Earth Day is the only event celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than a half billion people participate in EDN campaigns annually.
Year round, EDN promotes environmental citizenship and protection and progressive action worldwide. Its resources allow activists to connect, interact, mobilize and impact their communities, fostering positive change in local, national, and global policies. EDN's international network reaches over 15,000 organizations in 174 countries, and the domestic program encompasses over 5,000 groups and 100,000 educators, all working to promote a healthy, sustainable planet.
The audio single of "Save Me" is available for download on iTunes.com. Lyons is donating all proceeds generated by the song through iTunes to the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC). NRDC is an aggressive and effective environmental action organization utilizing laws and the strength of over a million members and online activists to protect the earth's wildlife and to work towards a safe and healthy environment for all living things. The videoclip for "Save Me" can also be viewed on their site, NRDC.org.
Also through Apple, the video is currently featured on the QuickTime Guide music homepage at www.apple.com/quicktime/guide.
It can be accessed directly through the link www.tracylyons.com/tracylyonsqt.htm.
Tracy Lyons was inspired to write "Save Me" because of health issues she personally endured related to mercury and lead toxicity. "I Will" was released in 2006 on Lyons' own Mythic Records with distribution through Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA). Other highlights include "Don't You Know," "Not You" and "Yes." It follows up her acclaimed 2001 debut album "Surrender," about which Billboard magazine wrote, "singer/tunesmith Tracy Lyons proves that she has a knack for wrapping strong words in a velvet glove."
