AIM Editor Kincaid To Call For Firing of NBC News President Capus at GE Meeting

WASHINGTON, April 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Accuracy in Media editor Cliff Kincaid announced today that he plans to ask General Electric chairman Jeffrey Immelt to fire NBC News president Steve Capus over his handling of the Virginia Tech killer's "multimedia manifesto." Kincaid will call for Capus' dismissal at GE's annual shareowners' meeting on Wednesday at the Carolina First Center in Greenville, South Carolina.

Kincaid has also asked members of Accuracy in Media to send postcards to Immelt calling for him to fire Capus. The postcards read:

Dear Mr. Immelt:
"Media Stay Away" was the statement on signs appearing on the Virginia
Tech campus after NBC aired the mass murderer's "multimedia manifesto."

and others "want us to leave at this point." The decision to air the
gross material, made by NBC News president Steve Capus, could inspire more

copycat killings. Capus has made NBC into the Al-Jazeera of mass
murderers. Every mass killer in the future will know that NBC will serve
as the propaganda vehicle for vicious hate and paranoid delusions. Please
clean out your network, starting with the firing of Capus, before more
damage is done and more lives are lost.

Cliff Kincaid will attend the shareholders' meeting as a representative of Accuracy in Media, which owns stock in General Electric.
