Stella Artois' Sundance Patio Hosts Festival Goers, International Film Makers and MobiOpera Debut

Stella Artois' Sundance Patio Hosts Festival Goers, International Film Makers and MobiOpera Debut

NORWALK, Conn., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Stella Artois returns to the Sundance Film Festival as the official beer sponsor for the fourth year. In addition to welcoming festival-goers to its Sundance Patio, Stella Artois also plays host to the International Film Makers party on opening weekend, and the debut of one of the New Frontier Program's artists works, MobiOpera, on the closing weekend.

Throughout the Festival, the Stella Artois Patio will provide festival pass holders with a place to relax and enjoy a taste of Belgium: complimentary Stella Artois and pommes frites. The Stella Artois Patio will be located at the intersection of Main Street and Heber Avenue, adjoining the Sundance House, and will be open daily from 4 - 7 pm. (Passholders must be age 21 and above to enter the Patio.)

On opening weekend, Stella Artois will host the Sundance Institute's annual private welcoming party for the International film makers who are represented at the Festival.

And, on closing weekend, Stella Artois will host MobiOpera's MobiSlam VJ/DJ party to debut its soap-travaganza. During the Festival, mobile phone users are invited to jointly script and shoot 'soapasodes' as they move about Park City. The collective narrative will be unveiled at the private event at the Stella Artois Patio on January 26. MobiOpera is part of Sundance's New Frontier, a platform for artists who are working at the intersection of art, film and emerging media technologies, and who are using the moving image to explore new concepts of narrative structure.

During the ten day Festival, Stella Artois will be the beer of choice at more than 100 parties, film premieres and sponsor fetes, enabling attendees to experience the best of Belgium. The Patio will also be a premier venue for media interviews with celebrities, directors and other film luminaries.

About Stella Artois:

Stella Artois(TM) traces its origin back to 1366 to a brewery called Den Hoorn, located in Leuven, a town just outside of Brussels. In 1717, master brewer Sebastian Artois purchased the brewery and renamed it to his namesake. The Artois Brewery created a special brew to celebrate Christmas and named it Stella (Latin for star) for its exceptional clarity. Today, Stella Artois is the gold standard for European lagers with its distinctive flavor and spicy hop character. It is the fastest growing European lager in the world and the #1 selling Belgian beer in the U.S.

About Sundance Film Festival:

The Sundance Film Festival is the premier showcase for U.S. and international independent film. Held each January in Park City, Sundance, Salt Lake City, and Ogden, Utah, the Festival is a core program of Sundance Institute, a nonprofit cultural organization founded by Robert Redford in 1981. Presenting 123 dramatic and documentary feature-length films in seven distinct categories, and 80 short films each year, the Sundance Film Festival has introduced American audiences to some of the most innovative films of the past two decades. The official Website of the Sundance Film Festival, www.sundance.org shares the Festival experience with a global audience through the streaming of short films, filmmaker interviews, and current news and box office information.
