Pete Yorn Ready to Hit the Road in February to Headline 'The Morning, Day, and Night Tour'

Singer-Songwriter Launching First Major Tour with Band in Support of Critically-Acclaimed 'Nightcrawler' Album

NEW YORK, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- With his critically-acclaimed new album, Nightcrawler, in stores now, singer-songwriter Pete Yorn will headline a major North American tour beginning February 6 in Boise, Idaho (see full itinerary following).

The upcoming concert dates mark Yorn's first performances since a set of successful dates opening for the Dixie Chicks earlier this year and his first major concert appearances, with full band, since the release of Nightcrawler in August 2006.

Drawing its name from Yorn's much-heralded album trilogy -- musicforthemorningafter (2001), Day I Forgot (2003), and Nightcrawler (2006) -- "The Morning, Day, and Night Tour" will showcase songs from all three albums as well as the dynamic cover choices and other musical surprises that make every Pete Yorn concert a unique and compelling event.

Pete Yorn's Nightcrawler has been drawing praise from the nation's music press, from the underground to the mainstream.

"The 12 new tracks on Nightcrawler are more daring and challenging than anything he's done up to now," wrote Paste in its four-star review. "If you are willing to give Nightcrawler a chance to sink its claws, don't expect to let go."

"Pete Yorn's songs sound so damn good," raved Blender in a three-and-one- half star review while Entertainment Weekly observed that "Yorn and his lazy- day delivery manage to hop between dance pop and lovely synth ballads with surprising ease."

"Pete Yorn is at his best when he's at his most ambitious ... and reaches for the sky on Nightcrawler," wrote the Associated Press. "Yorn's ability to inject the most simple guitar riffs with subtle sonic touches lifts the songs higher than they may have gone in lesser hands. Nightcrawler may have one foot firmly in Pete Yorn's roots rock past, but it manages to take an enjoyable leap forward."

"Brimming with nocturnal romanticism and sonic detail and tightly focused songwriting. Nightcrawler.. shows off his Bruuuuce heart in a big way," opined Spin, who gave the album three-and-one-half stars, "as both the ballads and rockers hurtle forward with undeniable momentum."

Penthouse, when naming "Our 20 Favorite Records of 2006," said, "A member of the next generation of great songwriters influenced by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, this New Jersey-born musician complements his romantically disenchanted, raspy vocals with fuzz-tinged guitars and keyboard on his third studio release."

"The third and final CD in a series that opens and closes a day in the life, Nightcrawler signals that Pete Yorn may have saved the best for last," observed Amazon. "Remaining front and center, his animated vocal style -- which can sooth during the quieter moments and vociferate on more stout effort -- is skillfully adept in conveying newfound inspirations that have snuck into the mix and broadened his sound. Yorn keys the vault in his first trilogy, leaving only a guitar and open canvas in the path of his future."

"Pete Yorn pushes himself into unfamiliar, often sonically jarring new terrain on his third outing," wrote Magnet. "Nothing could've prepared Yorn's fans for such stunning stylistic progressions, but this is what a listener should expect from any tunesmith in it for the long haul."

"With an ear for can't miss hooks...Nightcrawler is Yorn's best yet," wrote the Washington Post, echoing the sentiments of many of the nation's music fans and critics, while Guitar World Acoustic concurred, "Pete Yorn is a singer/songwriter to be reckoned with."
