MIAMI, Fla., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- TLC is looking for people who like the idea of 'do-it-yourself' home improvement projects -- but don't know where to start. Our newest daytime series follows a carpenter as he travels the country in search of works with chosen applicants on a DIY project of their preference, and along the way teaches them the skills to empower them to tackle other home projects in the future.

The series will visit the Miami and Fort Lauderdale metropolitan areas at the beginning of January, 2007. Local, fun-loving residents in need of a little extra help completing projects around the home are encouraged to apply.

Applicants are directed to apply via email or phone: HandymanCasting@discovery.com; or Seth Pompan at 240/662.4395. Ideally, applicants will own their own house, condo, townhouse; or if renting, applicants must have permission from their landlord to film in and renovate the property. All applicants must be 18 or older.

TAKE HOME HANDYMAN is produced for TLC by Discovery Productions. Sara Kozak is executive producer for Discovery Productions and Lisa Lucas is executive producer for TLC.
