MusicNet Appoints Ted Casey as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Partner Relations
Mobile and Digital Media Industry Veteran Joins World's Leading Business-to-Business Entertainment Services Provider
NEW YORK, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- MusicNet, the world's leading business- to-business digital entertainment services provider, today announced that it has appointed Ted Casey to the position of Senior Vice President of Business Development and Partner Relations. A mobile and digital media industry veteran with 16 years of experience and award-winning management and Internet business success, Mr. Casey will be responsible for managing the expansion of MusicNet's global roster of distribution partners, and overseeing partner relations, marketing, strategy, and public relations on a global basis. Based in the Company's New York City headquarters, Mr. Casey will report directly to Alan McGlade, MusicNet's President and CEO, and manage a team that is based in New York, Seattle, and London, England.

Mr. Casey joins MusicNet from Verizon Wireless where he headed the wireless carrier's mobile music business. He managed the rapidly growing music services for Verizon Wireless' 53 million customers, including ringtones, ringback tones, V CAST music videos, the V CAST Performances video concert series, and the over-the-air full song download service V CAST Music that was launched earlier this year. Mr. Casey was responsible for overseeing business development, strategy, product planning, profit growth, partnerships, content acquisition, programming, and operations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Casey served as General Manager of Lycos Music and Lycos' HotBot search engine for the Lycos Network's 99 million unique monthly visitors worldwide. He oversaw strategic planning, business growth, content partnerships, product management, business development, engineering, and operations. Under Mr. Casey's leadership, HotBot was honored with Best Search Engine awards from PC Magazine, U.S. News, CNET, and The Wall Street Journal, and Lycos Music pioneered online digital music search services, download promotions for new album releases and early trials of legal major label digital distribution. Prior to Lycos, Mr. Casey managed the multimedia product, QuickTime VR, at Apple Computer, leading product strategy and planning, content development and partnerships. Mr. Casey also has served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for mBED Software and was Co-founder and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for GoFish Technologies.
Mr. Casey holds an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles and a B.A. from Duke University.
