LONDON, June 15/PRNewswire/ -- Forget the World Cup, Wimbledon or the cricket this year; the
real match is taking place in your own living room....

An opinion survey of 1,000 people commissioned by Clinique and
Sky HD discovered which celebrities the UK public would most like to get up
close up with in their living room.

In a royal battle Kate Middleton finished above Chelsy Davy
with 75% of the votes.

One of the most interesting football matches of this summer
shows 64% would prefer to get up close with Steve McClaren rather than Sven
Goran Erickson with 36%.

In the continuous battle of UK politics, 42% of UK voters
rated Tony Blair above rivals David Cameron and Gordon Brown. Gordon finished
bottom of the politics poll with 21%.

Cameron was more popular than Blair with 55+ age group, but
lost out on the street cred stakes with twice as many of the 16-24 age group
preferring an up close with Blair.

71% would prefer to see Pierce Brosnan up close rather than
Daniel Craig.

In the ongoing battle of Aniston v Jolie, Aniston came out on
top.

In a world where celebrities are always on show UK public were asked how
they would prefer to see celebrities...

53% of people would prefer to see celebrities looking slightly flawed,
60% of women agreed with this statement.

Whilst, 76% of men in the UK would prefer to see images of celebrities
looking perfect!

Meeting a celebrity is not always what it seems. 80% of the UK public
said a celebrity looked less attractive in real life.

Last month Sky became the first broadcaster in the UK to launch a
national high definition (HD) TV service, with eight dedicated HD channels.

which are much more detailed with four times the picture quality of standard

67% of voters aged 16-24 preferred Tony Blair to David Cameron.

For the 55 and overs, Freddie Flintoff won the match against David
Beckham with 63% of the votes.

Chantelle lost out to Jordan with only 30.5% against Jordan's 60.5%.

Celebrities: Up Close & Personal - By Region

Angelina Jolie was most popular versus Jennifer Aniston in the South-East
with 58%.

With 66% Samantha Cameron came out best against Cherie Blair in
Yorkshire.

Scotland remained loyal by giving Andrew Murray 81% of votes against Tim
Henman.

Steve McClaren was most popular in the North-West with 86% compared to
Sven with just 14%.

Celebrity Perception - By Age

41% of over 55's who have seen celebrities think they look more
attractive in real life.

Over 70% of 16-24 year olds think the image of a celebrity is an
unrealistic goal for people to aspire to.

Only 2% of people aged 45-54 prefer to see images of celebrities looking
perfect.

Celebrity Perception - By Region

Over 70% of Scottish people think the image of a celebrity is an
unrealistic goal for people to aspire to.

Only 1.0% in Scotland prefer to see images of celebrities looking
perfect.

Over 60% in the Midlands prefer to see images of celebrities looking
slightly flawed.

Over 21% of people in Yorkshire who have seen a celebrity think they
looked less attractive in real life.
