Publication Secures an All-star Team of Columnists
And Outstanding Reviews on Chinese Media

BEIJING, May 10 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Sun Media Investment Holdings Limited (''Sun Media'') today announced that the launch of Observer Star, an authoritative electronic review weekly targeted at global Chinese, has been scheduled for May 18th in Hong Kong.

The Observer Star will be targeted at the global Chinese community and overseas students. Advocating the concept of ''priceless viewpoints and diversified ideas,'' the paper provides authoritative analysis on political, social and cultural issues in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The Observer Star will be published every Saturday with Dr. Wei Chengsi, a senior media professional in Hong Kong, as its chief editor. Columnists will consist of the best known Chinese experts and scholars including Zhou Ruijin (Huang Puping), the former associate chief-editor of People's Daily; Dr. Ding Xueliang, professor from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Ping Lu, a famous writer in Taiwan; and Dr. Wu Guoguang, professor from Victoria University in Canada. In addition, in each issue, 20 review articles will be carefully selected from over 100 domestic and international newspapers, magazines and websites.

The Observer Star is invested by Sun Media, adopting new foreign network multimedia reader technology for free distribution. The electronic magazine LAN, created by the renowned TV presenter Yang Lan, is being distributed by the same technology and two months after its launch the bi-weekly circulation broke 1 million; by May 1st, 2006 its bi-weekly circulation had risen to 2.1 million. The newly published Observer Star will be distributed to its readers mainly through major overseas Chinese websites. Readers abroad can access the electronic magazine reader through many channels like websites, and afterwards they can receive the electronic magazines weekly.
