The Oregon State Fair Announces 2006 Concert Line-Up

Tickets for Seven Great Concerts Go on Sale June 2nd

SALEM, Ore., May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Pack up your friends and your family and take a road trip to the Oregon State Fair this summer. The 11 great days of the fair start August 25th and run through Labor Day, September 4th. In addition to all the food and fun it has to offer, the Oregon State Fair is proud to host 7 great concert events that are sure to attract music enthusiasts of all ages.

2006 Oregon State Fair Concert Line-up Includes:

Aug. 25th -- Ted Nugent
Aug. 26th -- 94/7fm presents PetAid 2006 featuring Cake, Violent
Femmes, and The Decemberists
Aug. 27th -- Latino Artist -- Artist to be announced
Aug. 28th -- Sara Evans
Aug. 29th -- Raven Symone
Sept. 1st -- Trace Adkins
Sept. 3rd -- The Steve Miller Band

Tickets to all concerts go on sale Friday, June 2 at all participating Safeway Ticketswest outlets, by phone at 1-800-992-8499, or 503-224-8499 in Portland, and www.ticketswest.com. Fair admission is required for all concerts and can be purchased at a $2 discount now through August 24. As a further cost savings, parking is free this year. The Fair is will kick off the 11-day event with Ted Nugent in the new indoor Pavilion. The 94/7fm PetAid 2006 event with artists Cake, Violent Femmes and The Decemberists, on August 26th, will benefit Dove Lewis, a Portland emergency pet clinic, and the Oregon Humane Society. The Days and derby also will play that show. With such big name artists and free parking, tickets are sure to go fast. About the Oregon State Fair

Started in the late nineteenth century, the State Fair has become an Oregon family tradition. Families come from all over the state to take in great shows, rides, culinary delights, and animal and agricultural exhibits. Fair attendees will be able to see over 26,000 exhibits in livestock, home arts and hobbies, show horses, fine art, photography, professional wine, homebrew beer, small animals, including poultry, rabbits, doves, pigeons and guinea pigs, plus 4-H and FFA animals and events.
