Christal Films secures Canadian distribution rights of the next Woody Allen film

Christal Films secures Canadian distribution rights of the next Woody Allen film

MONTREAL, May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Once again this year the Cannes film market has some great movies in the making and Christal Films Distribution is delighted to have secured the distribution rights for one of them: Woody Allen's next film, which will start shooting in London, England in June. Christian Larouche and Sylvain Gagne (President and Vice-President respectively of Christal Films) both fell under the charm of its delightful mix of romance and Hitchockian suspense and are looking forward to sharing with the Canadian public the originality and subtlety of the script of Woody Allen's new film.

Ewan McGregor (Moulin Rouge, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, The Island) and Colin Farrell (The Recruit, S.W.A.T., The New World) will be playing the main roles in this story of two brothers, devastated by financial problems, who decide to make crime pay. The cast also includes British actor Tom Wilkinson (Sense and Sensibility, The Patriot, Separate Lies). The so far untitled film's premiere is scheduled for 2007.

Woody Allen, whose career has embraced the combined real-life roles of director, scriptwriter, author, producer, actor, and American composer, has also shown us the man within, thanks to a strong autobiographical element in great films such as Annie Hall, Interiors and Manhattan. His very personal style has often enchanted both critics and public, creating successful films such as The Purple Rose of Cairo, Hannah and Her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Deconstructing Harry, Sweet and Lowdown and, most recently, Match Point. Here's betting that his new movie will enchant us once again!
