Real Life Hero of Hotel Rwanda to Speak at Nonprofit Conference in Novi

NOVI, Mich., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Mr. Paul Rusesabagina, the real life hero portrayed in the movie Hotel Rwanda, will address the nonprofit community during the Michigan Nonprofit SuperConference (May 3, 1:15 p.m.) at the Sheraton Detroit Novi.

As Rwanda descended into a genocide that killed nearly one million people, Rusesabagina found the courage to save over 1,200 individuals. During his speech, Rusesabagina will share his perspective on the importance of commitment to community and sign copies of his new book "An Ordinary Man."

More than 600 nonprofit volunteers and staff are expected to attend this year's conference titled "New Directions in Nonprofit Excellence." The conference is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. on May 2 through 2:30 p.m. on May 3. Additional speakers include Sterling Speirn, President and CEO of W.K. Kellogg Foundation (May 2, 12:45 p.m.) and Dan Moore, Vice President of Public Affairs of GuideStar (May 3, 8:15 a.m.).
