Distinctive Buddha Monk Film By Anna Wilding Well Received in Cinema Public

LOS ANGELES, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Films with religious themes and strong storylines are faring well in the public eye. The distinctive and original film "Buddha Wild Monk in the Hut" by Anna Wilding -- produced by Carpe Diem Films -- first Premiered at the Laemmle Cinema on Friday 24 March 2006 for a week long run and was well received by both critics and public alike.

Shot in a gritty news style combined with the full colours and sounds of a poetic narrative feature, Buddha Wild is a modest film that subtly discusses issues of war and religion, and the role of women in Asia. At its heart, the film takes us inside the Thai culture and Sri Lankan and Thai Buddhist missionary life. Narrated by the stunning actress Anna Wilding in a manner that is "a mixture of seriousness and humor that is important contrast to the monks' words" the film was called a "surprisingly pleasant trip" with a "homespun honesty and integrity" by LA Weekly. The Union Jack newspaper stated that "Anna Wilding Captures our attention and the monks open up the most they have in a long time". Further reviews are pending.

Carpe Diem Films LLC is a new company with "Buddha Wild Monk in the Hut" the first film off its slate. Based on the initial release responses, Carpe Diem Films LLC is delaying the DVD release until the third or fourth quarter and hoping to find the funds to segue way into further staggered releases around America and Internationally.

Anna Wilding was proud to be associated with the film, which she says also contains a simple message in this day and age to all religions and to all people -- to treat each other with respect and "loving kindness". Wilding reiterates the monks' words that there are "good things in all religions" and that people are not always following the good things in their religions these days. In the film, Wilding says and writes of the monks, "they have a freedom we do not have, yet they have a freedom we will never know."
