Wolfmother Have the World Howling for More

Following Mountains of International Praise and a String of Sold Out Shows, Band Announces US Tour Dates in April, Coachella and Sasquatch Appearances Plus US LP Release Date

NEW YORK, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Unless you've been hiding in a subterranean cave or you have a rock and roll firewall on your computer, chances are you've been hearing lots lately about Australian's favorite sons -- Wolfmother.

Here's the most crucial news about this group that's had the kids hollering and the press gushing following their recent sold-out tour of the States and the release of their Modular/Interscope EP, Dimensions.

For starters, the NME has dubbed Wolfmother "Australia's Best New Band" while UK broadcaster Zane Lowe recently featured them as "Best Record In The World" on his influential BBC radio show.

Here in the States, the Sydney based trio just landed a high-profile feature on MTV's influential You Heard It First program plus a full page feature in the Sunday edition of the Los Angeles Times that declared them "sexy, liberating, exciting and raw." Both of these acts of praise follow massively packed sold-out shows earlier this month in New York and Los Angeles.

Back in their native Australia, Wolfmother cemented their status as 2006's preeminent masters of rock by cleaning up in the annual Readers' and Critics' poll of Australian Rolling Stone. In addition having their self-titled, double platinum selling debut album top the magazine's Readers' list, Wolfmother was named "Best Band," "Best Rock Artist," "Best New Artist" and "Best Hard Rock/Metal Band."

Clearly, the fire that Wolfmother ignites with their mammoth songs (and 'fros!) and their incendiary live performances is spreading fast.

The group has just confirmed performances at the Coachella and Sasquatch festivals this Spring and they are also announcing another run of headlining club dates through early April (see below).

All of this, of course, is to prepare the masses for the release of the sprawling, 13 song juggernaut that is their self-titled debut LP. It's just been confirmed to detonate Stateside on May 2.

Meanwhile here's the list of the North American houses that Wolfmother will be tearing down before too long ...
