As if the college admissions process weren't stressful enough, Newsweek reports that last week about four-thousand students learned they had been given the wrong score on the October S-A-T. To make matters much worse, the mistake wasn't discovered until late in the application season, so the flawed scores had already been reviewed by colleges. After last week's announcement, admissions officers all over the country scrambled to take another look at the affected applicants.

Florida Woman Puts Her 15 Minutes of Fame Up for Bid on eBay

A Florida woman, who has meticulously avoided any type of personal publicity or fame all her life, has decided to sell her unused "15 minutes of fame" to the highest bidder on the popular Internet site eBay.

The woman's identity is a tightly held secret. Her spokesman says if her name were divulged, it would use up some of her fame time and she wouldn't have as much to sell.

The eBay listing is scheduled to last seven days. The high bidder will be announced in a public relations campaign delivered to over ten-thousand media outlets, so it's possible that the buyer's fame could far exceed pop artist Andy Warhol's suggested timeframe. It was Warhol's assertion that since our culture was so enamored by fame and publicity eventually everyone in the world would be famous for 15 minutes.
