Music Producers and Artists Buy and Sell Beats, Instrumental Tracks at the New Online Marketplace TheBeatTrader.com
Fast-Growing Site Acquires Membership Base of 5,000 Producers in Six Months, Contains 1,300 Music Productions
GLEN ALLEN, Va., March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- TheBeatTrader.com today announced the official launch of its Website, which allows music producers to upload and market their original productions to a worldwide audience of artists who can search for, audition, rate and purchase compositions from every genre of music.
Artists use the site to make offers on beats that will help define or complement their projects, while producers accept or decline offers from an intuitive and customized Web interface. The site was created, in part, in response to the growing trend whereby amateur producers create elaborate tracks and work to market and commercialize their productions within the music industry.
All musical productions sold through TheBeatTrader.com are sold on an exclusive basis. Artists do not pay royalties on productions they buy through the site if the compositions are used in commercial recordings. Buyers can listen to a 60-second preview of any track for free before purchasing it, and there is no fee for prospective buyers to browse the site.
"We developed the TheBeatTrader to give amateur producers a fast and effective way to audition their productions and receive feedback," said John Parks, TheBeatTrader.com's founder. "In the past, producers have typically marketed their productions on foot to artists who live in their neighborhoods. We're basically trying to help producers market their material to a global audience in an efficient manner."
TheBeatTrader.com also allows producers and artists to collaborate on projects online from their homes and studios. The site, for instance, contains a community forum where producers and artists shares ideas and ask questions on topics such as sampling, re-mixing and music production.
To use the site, producers purchase upload credits to list their material. TheBeatTrader.com charges a 20-percent service fee on all sales, while the balance of each sale is deposited into the seller's account and can be withdrawn via PayPal at any time.
After creating their free account, members of TheBeatTrader.com receive three upload credits. The credits allow new members to immediately post and market productions at no cost.
