Music Industry Veteran Joins Navio Management Team

Marc Morgenstern, Former Executive Vice President of ASCAP, Joins Navio as Vice President

CUPERTINO, Calif., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Navio Systems, Inc. (www.navio.com), the leading provider of rights-based commerce solutions, today announced that Marc Morgenstern has joined Navio as vice president of rights holder relations and music. In this role, Marc will work with record labels, music publishers and music distributors that are migrating to Navio's rights-based commerce model. With Navio, digital entertainment content can be easily sold and distributed to any compatible device, whether web or mobile, regardless of file format or digital rights management (DRM) approach. Marc will report to Stefan Roever, chief executive officer, and Ray Schaaf, chief operating officer, of Navio Systems, Inc.

Marc brings to Navio more than 25 years' experience in the music and entertainment industries, including corporate leadership, operations, marketing, and business development. Throughout his career, he has held management positions for leading companies, including the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Loudeye Corp., Rightspring Inc., Sucherman Consulting Group, Inc., Jack Hilton, Inc., and CBS, Inc. Most recently, he was chief executive officer and director of Overpeer, Inc. a digital anti-piracy and marketing firm for music, video, games and software. In 2004, he arranged for the sale of Overpeer to Loudeye Corp., a worldwide leader in business-to-business digital media solutions.

"Marc's background and depth of knowledge in the music industry will greatly enhance the types of solutions Navio builds for our music customers," said Navio's chief executive officer, Stefan Roever. "We're seeing clear evidence within our current user base that the rights-based commerce model is a key enabler for the distribution of entertainment products. With Marc on board, Navio is ready to expand the value of rights-based solutions to the entire digital music market."

"I am so excited to be part of the team helping rights owners sell directly to music fans and enabling the legitimate sharing of the music they love with friends and family," said Morgenstern. "It takes digital music distribution to the next level of choice, simplicity and flexibility."
