BACKGROUND: When Sony Music, President Clinton, HBO, SHOWTIME, ESPN, Imus
in the Morning and ABC News needed top voice-over talent, they
chose Joan Baker. When Joan Baker decided to give back to her
industry, she chose to author a book -- Secrets of Voice-Over
Success: Top Voice-Over Actors Reveal How They Did It --
showcasing the top voice-over talent in the country.
All inspired by JOAN'S father, who lost the gift of
communication to Alzheimer's. JOAN BAKER'S spirit so inspired
David Hyde Pierce (spokesperson for the Alzheimer's
Association) that he wrote the foreword to the book. Why you
ask? DAVID explains, "Secrets of Voice-Over Success just
grabbed me. It grabbed me because I have both a love of its
subject -- the art of voice-over -- and a passion for its
mission: the fight against Alzheimer's."
