Dorrit Bern, CEO, Charming Shoppes, to Receive Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Paradigm Award
WHAT: Dorrit Bern, CEO, Charming Shoppes, will be awarded the Greater
Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce 2006 Paradigm Award - the
region's most prestigious honor for businesswomen - in
recognition of her professional, civic, and personal
accomplishments.
Kimberley Locke, a former American Idol finalist and
spokesperson for the Charming Shoppes Lane Bryant stores, will
sing a single from her upcoming album. A special Charming
Shoppes fashion show will also highlight the luncheon.
The Chamber will present Ms. Bern with the Paradigm crystal
sculpture and the $50,000 charitable gift, provided by
Devereux, which Ms. Bern will allocate to an organization of
her choice.
Also at the event, the winners of the Paradigm Scholarship for
Working Women will be announced. The scholarship was created
to provide employed women in Greater Philadelphia the
opportunity to complete their undergraduate credits and earn a
degree. Scholarship winners will receive up to $5,000 over a
two-year period for books and tuition.
