Notable News: "DMC: MY ADOPTION JOURNEY" IS FIRST DOCUMENTARY TO DEBUT UNDER THE "VH1 ROCK DOCS" FRANCHISE, PREMIERING ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25 AT 9PM
Five years ago at the age of 35 hip-hop pioneer and co-founder of the multi-platinum legendary group Run-DMC, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels made a startling discovery: he was adopted. Suddenly everything he thought he knew about himself changed.
This revelation occurred after the death of Jam Master Jay and while DMC was going through a deep depression. He began to question his purpose and place in life. DMC invited VH1 on his journey to track down this other family he never knew was out there. Premiering Saturday, February 25 at 9PM, "DMC: MY ADOPTION JOURNEY" documents that search as the first special from the "VH1 Rock Docs" franchise. "VH1 Rock Docs" is an all new franchise of music based documentaries, each telling an untold story in the history of rock and hip-hop music.
New Video Adds:

"You Oughta Know" - VH1 fills you in on artists on the rise. Get acquainted with these essential new artists.
The Fray - With the release of their debut album, "How to Save a Life," The Fray are ready to show the world that Denver actually is a "rock city." The timeless songs on their debut are soaring ballads with a ragged edge. Led by choir-trained singer Isaac Slade, the band invokes the sound of Coldplay mixed with Bright Eyes.
KT Tunstall - KT Tunstall has become a sensation in Great Britain with her soulful style of songwriting. Her debut, "Eye to the Telescope" is an intimate album with a rock crunch that comes from an appreciation for the beats of Bo Diddley.

James Blunt - This ex-soldier has gone from riding in tanks to topping the UK charts with the ballad "You're Beautiful," that Elton John has compared to his own hit "Your Song." The candor and catchiness of Back to Bedlam is the reason for Blunt's success - the CD showcases a disarmingly tender voice that speaks with the heart of a true romantic.
Anthony Hamilton - Soulful and smooth, Anthony Hamilton got his start at age ten singing in his church choir. The Charlotte, NC, native made the move to New York City in 1993 and has now become the new master of old-school soul, drawing comparisons to R&B legends Bill Withers and Bobby Womack.

What's on VH1 Classic?
VH1 CLASSIC SHINES UP MUSIC'S "ONE HIT WONDERS" BEGINNING
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25. Taco, Breakfast Club, Blind Melon -- All dishes at your favorite diner? Probably not. They are, however, three acts featured in VH1 Classic's upcoming "One-Hit Wonders Weekend," beginning Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 PM/ET/11:00 AM/PT during a four-hour video block.
VH1 Classic digs deep into its video vaults to unearth music video gems from bands that for one shining moment in the 70s, 80s or 90s were all the rage only to never be heard from again.
From "Seasons in the Sun" to "Walking on Sunshine," VH1 Classic salutes the bands that achieved what so many aspiring performers hoped to do -- reach the pinnacle of pop music success at least once. In addition to the above acts, the "One Hit Wonder Weekend" will air videos from Don Johnson, Toni Basil, Dee-Lite, Terry Jacks, Double, Baltimora, Bobby McFerrin and Edie Brickell and New Bohemians.
So what were those hit songs from the aforementioned food-themed bands?
Taco - "Putting on the Ritz"
Breakfast Club - "Right On Track"
Blind Melon - "No Rain" featuring the infamous "Bee" Girl
Launched in May 2000, VH1 Classic is a 24-hour network that presents music videos, concerts and music specials featuring classic rock, soul and pop artists from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
