Lifetime Entertainment Services Names Louise Henry Bryson President, Distribution and Affiliate Business Development
NEW YORK, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Marking the extraordinary distribution growth of its three thriving networks -- Lifetime Television (nearing 90 million subscribers), Lifetime Movie Network (approaching the 50 million mark) and the latest offspring, Lifetime Real Women -- Lifetime Entertainment Services has promoted Louise Henry Bryson to President, Distribution and Affiliate Business Development, it was announced today by Betty Cohen, President/CEO.
Bryson retains her additional role as Executive Vice President/General Manager, Lifetime Movie Network, a post she assumed in October. Ranking only behind sister network Lifetime Television among cable television women's networks, Lifetime Movie Network is up 33% in total viewers year-to-date and also out-rated or equaled 57 ad-supported cable networks in total day household ratings.*

Bryson joined the company in September 1999 as Executive Vice President, Distribution and Affiliate Business Development, Lifetime Entertainment Services.
Prior to joining Lifetime Entertainment Services, Bryson served as Senior Vice President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing at fX Networks, Inc: Fox Inc., where she launched fX in June 1994 with the largest distribution in cable television history. She also had a lead role in developing the concept and business plan for the second channel, fXM: Movies from Fox, which launched in October 1994.
Bryson served as a Vice President at NBC from 1990 to 1993, and was a senior member of the team that initiated and developed the groundbreaking Olympic TripleCast, the first pay-per-view presentation of the Summer Olympic Games.
Previously, Bryson was a Senior Consultant for Showtime Events Television, General Manager for Westinghouse Group W's award-winning regional movie service, Z Channel, and a Vice President at Viacom Cablevision in San Francisco.
Prior to working in cable television, Bryson was an award-winning film writer/producer. Her awards include an Emmy from the Washington, D.C. chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, The Corporation for Public Broadcasting's "Best Local Cultural Documentary" Award, and a "Best of Festival" Award from the National Educational Film Festival.
Bryson holds an M.B.A. and M.A.T. degree from Stanford University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington and is a graduate of the Stanford Broadcast Institute. Bryson is actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Trustees for the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles, Pomona College and the Board of Counselors of the USC Annenberg School for Communications.
Bryson served as Chairwoman of the Board for the Los Angeles public television station, KCET, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Public Broadcasting System (PBS). In 1998, she was recognized with the Public Television's Leadership Award. She is affiliated with CTAM Educational Foundation and serves as a Director for the Investment Company of America, an Equity Mutual Fund under The Capital Group Companies, Inc.
