Golden Globe-Nominated Actress Supports Cancer Patients by Donating 'Desperate Housewives' Episodic Fee to PADRES Contra El Cancer

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- PADRES Contra El Cancer (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, today announced that EVA LONGORIA, star of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," is donating her episodic fee from an upcoming clip show to the cancer organization.

"Eva's generosity extends far beyond monetary contributions," said Michael Velazquez, CEO of PADRES. "Whether she is promoting our Symbol of Hope wristband campaign or visiting children in the hospital, Eva's commitment to the families we serve is an inspiration to everyone involved with PADRES. Her compassion is reflected in the smiles of every patient she sees."

The Golden Globe nominee has been involved with PADRES since 2001 and was named the organization's National Spokesperson in March.

"I've seen first-hand the hope that PADRES brings to thousands of children and their families who are battling cancer," said Longoria. "These children inspire me each day to continue making a difference in their lives and the lives of other children affected by this disease.
