PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, a premier Celebrity Pro-Am event on the PGA tour and the only golf tournament played on four courses spanning five days, will once again converge in the Palm Springs area January 16 through January 22, 2006.

The BHCC will introduce inaugural play at the Classic Club, a newly-designed course by the legendary Arnold Palmer, inspired by the prestigious tournament. The Classic Club boasts an expansive course on 250 acres featuring abundant on-site parking, spectator-friendly risers and tented seating, as well as inviting gallery viewing from fan-friendly plateaus throughout the scenic course.

"As the result of an incredibly generous gift from the H.C. and Frances N. Berger Foundation, we've not only been given a home course for the tournament, but we've also been gifted an ongoing revenue stream that will enable us to make even more meaningful contributions to the charities supported by the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic," explained Classic Board President Steve Morton.

Also new this year will be the inclusion of an exciting "19th Hole" event following play on Saturday, in addition to many popular first-time celebrities to the tournament. "We're keeping everything that's great about this tournament, and adding some terrific activities to keep it exciting for new fans and our loyal enthusiasts who return each year," explained Tournament Director Michael Milthorpe.

In addition to the Classic Club, other courses hosting the tournament include Bermuda Dunes Country Club, La Quinta Country Club and the Arnold Palmer Private Course at PGA West. Since its inception in 1960, the BHCC has donated nearly $42 million to local non-profit organizations including Eisenhower Medical Center, Shelter from the Storm and The Boys & Girls Clubs, among others. The five-day, 90-hole Tournament includes a 72-hole Pro-Am with more than 30 celebrities such as favorites like Samuel L. Jackson, Carson Daly, Don Cheadle, Cheech Marin, Yogi Berra and Roger Clemens, with more celebrity participants to be announced. The Tournament features a $5 million purse with $900,000 to the winner, attracting the top PGA Tour players annually. Alongside 126 other talented players, defending champion Justin Leonard and top 10 player in the world, Chris DiMarco, will both compete.

Tickets and further details are available at www.bhcc.com or by calling 1.888.MRBHOPE (672.4673), and are priced at only $25 per day, with several packages offering additional savings.
