A Behind the Scenes Look at NFL Players Starring in TV Commercials in PLAYERS INC's 'Helmets Off: Selling With the Stars' on FSN

Helmets Off: Selling With the Stars is the Last of Six Monthly PLAYERS INC Television Specials for the 2005 Season, Giving Fans an Inside Look at Life as an NFL Player

WASHINGTON, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- PLAYERS INC, the licensing and marketing subsidiary of the NFL Players Association, is partnering with Electronic Arts and Reebok to present "Helmets Off: Selling With the Stars: NFL Players in Commercials," the last of six monthly television specials created and produced by PLAYERS INC. Featuring some of the most recognized players in the NFL, both past and present, the half-hour show will air on FSN throughout the month of December.

In this month's installment, our cameras capture all of the behind-the-scenes action when current and former NFL stars film commercials for Reebok, Madden NFL06, Visa, and Coors. Current players Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia Eagles), Jevon Kearse (Philadelphia Eagles), Deion Branch (New England Patriots), Alex Smith (San Francisco 49ers), Chad Pennington (New York Jets), Byron Leftwich (Jacksonville Jaguars), and Tom Brady (New England Patriots) are a few of the many players featured in this month's episode. Hall of Famers Marcus Allen (Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs), John Elway (Denver Broncos), Barry Sanders (Detroit Lions), and Hall of Fame nominee Troy Aikman (Dallas Cowboys) make appearances as well.

In the episode's first segment, Eagles quarterback and Madden NFL06 cover boy Donovan McNabb shoots a commercial for Madden NFL06. Filmed on a faux- snowy set at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., McNabb pulls off a convincing performance as a near-frozen quarterback with the help of Steelers linemen James Farrior and Chris Hope, who appear in cameo roles.

Kearse, Branch, Smith, Pennington, and Leftwich also put their acting skills to the test to promote the Reebok NFL Equipment commercial. In addition to performing a variety of exercises in their Reebok gear, several players are filmed taking part in voice-over sessions to make the commercial as authentic as possible.

Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady and his offensive line later get together to promote Visa's five figurative metaphors in one of this year's most popular commercials. Not only are these teammates successful on the field, winning three NFL Championship titles in the last four Super Bowls, but they seem to have a great bond of friendship off the field as well which can be seen in the behind the scenes footage of the players having fun with one another in between takes.

In the final segment of the show, NFL legends Allen, Elway, Sanders and Aikman film a commercial sponsored by Coors in order to promote the company's MVParents.com initiative. Not often can this elite class of players be found in a makeup trailer together, but all four are willing to go through whatever it takes to get the important message about responsible parenting across to viewers nationwide.
