ICPR Hosts Media Conference November 15th

Newton Minow and Carol Marin to Discuss TV News

Journalists are invited to a conference focusing on election coverage by Chicago television stations. The half-day conference will be held Tuesday, November 15 at the Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 North State Street, Chicago.

Featured speakers will include Newton Minow, former Chair of the Federal Communications Commission, and Carol Marin, investigative reporter for WMAQ-TV and Chicago Sun-Times columnist.

News reporters, academic researchers and national experts will appear in three panel discussions beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The discussions will center on ways to improve the content of news coverage of election campaigns and issues.

Newton and Marin will appear at about 11:30 a.m.
