"It has been a trying year for many Americans on so many levels, that we at Chrysler Financial wanted to host an evening of giving back," said William F. Jones Jr., Vice President - Chrysler Financial. "We believe strongly in our core value of social responsibility and look forward to raising additional funds to help those who have experienced loss and tragedy as they begin to rebuild their lives."
Award-winning vocalist Martina McBride bounded onto the country music scene in the early 90's and has continued to set a standard in the music industry with her memorable musical statements. After signing with RCA in 1991, she released her 1992 debut album "The Time Has Come" and the pop- inflected 1993 breakthrough album "The Way That I Am." Martina has sold over 15 million albums and achieved six No. 1 hits including: "Wild Angels," "A Broken Wing," "Blessed" and "I Love You." Her latest CD, "Timeless," released October 18th, is a traditional country album that takes music fans back in time as Martina remakes some of the most revered country classics of our time. After winning the award three years in a row, she has been nominated for CMA Female Vocalist again this year. Martina has been recognized for her ongoing charitable work and as a national spokeswoman for victims of domestic violence.
LeAnn Rimes has made the rare transition from child prodigy to seasoned artist. Few in popular music can rival her in terms of critical acclaim or commercial success. She has sold more than 37 million records, won two Grammys and received numerous industry awards, spent countless hours helping children and veterans, and established herself as a household name. LeAnn's Curb debut, "Blue," made her a star at thirteen, selling more than eight million copies and earning her two Grammy Awards, including the first Best New Artist distinction ever won by a country artist. Her next four albums topped the country charts and "You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs," made history reaching No. 1 in three Billboard categories -- country, pop and contemporary Christian. Her singles made equally deep impressions; one, "How Do I Live" (1997), lodged for an unprecedented eight months at number one en route to more than two hundred weeks on the country singles charts. LeAnn's range as a singer has stretched past the borders of traditional country, from her contributions to the "Coyote Ugly" soundtrack (2000) to the more mature insights she achieves on her latest release, the gold-selling "This Woman" (2004). With her husband Dean Sheremet, she has written three children's books, "Jag" and "Jag's Best Friend."
Newcomer Carrie Underwood, the latest American Idol winner, rounds out the trio of beauties with equal talent, charm, and grace. Her modest upbringing entails a background of singing in church at the age of three. In addition to her relaxed manner and voice, Carrie plays the guitar and the piano. This Salutatorian of her 2001 high school class studied mass communication at Northeastern State College before leaving to compete for American Idol. She is currently making the talk show rounds including "Entertainment Tonight," "Live with Regis & Kelly," and "Larry King," just to name a few. Her post- Idol hit "Inside Your Heaven" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her first album, "Some Hearts," is scheduled for release on November 15th. Her newest single, "Jesus, Take the Wheel," hit country radio on October 18th and was the most-added song of the week.
The general public can purchase tickets through TicketMaster at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ or by calling (248) 645-6666 on October 28th at 10 a.m. Tickets will also be available on the event Web site http://www.countrycaresconcert.com/ and http://www.palacenet.com/ through the TicketMaster link.
