New Sony Software Empowers Kids to Create Their Own Music Just Like Their Favorite Artists

New Sony Software Empowers Kids to Create Their Own Music Just Like Their Favorite Artists

Super Duper Music Looper and Jam Trax Software Programs Encourage Music Creation & Creativity for Kids of All Ages

MADISON, Wis., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Media Software, a leading provider of music creation programs for the PC, has announced the availability of Jam Trax(TM) and Super Duper Music Looper(TM) software, two new applications designed specifically for kids.

The brand-new Jam Trax and newly enhanced Super Duper Music Looper programs allow kids to create their own songs and mixes using musical building blocks called loops. Both applications include more than 600 loops and sounds that kids can mix and match for infinite creative possibilities.

"With Super Duper Music Looper and Jam Trax software, kids can make their own music in minutes," said Dave Chaimson, vice president of marketing, Sony Media Software. "You don't have to know how to read music or play an instrument to make your very own songs. We use elements called 'loops,' and layer them together to provide infinite ways in which kids can explore musical composition. The software even lets you change the key and tempo of the song making this a perfect accompanist for practice."

Both programs provide loops representing hundreds of instruments such as drums, guitar, keyboards, horns, and percussion that can be mixed with amazing sound effects in the easy to understand drag-and-drop interface. Microphone support through your PC's sound card lets kids add their own vocals to the mix. Finished songs can be sent to a friend by email, saved to play again, or even archived to a format that can be burned to a CD for listening on the go.

"These applications provide the basis for countless hours of family interaction and activity," said Chaimson. "Any parent interested in introducing their child to music will find the software very easy to use, extraordinarily captivating and entertaining -- all at the same time."

Exciting extra features enhance the music-creation experience even further. Made with the younger music fan in mind, Super Duper Music Looper software features wacky LooperVision(TM) animations that can be activated during music playback, giving children a chance to experience their music creations in an entirely new way. Older kids and teens will groove to new and progressive Jam Trax sounds that come with this program. While similar to the Super Duper Music Looper program, the Jam Trax package provides specialized music content that's perfect for kids wanting to create rock, pop, and hip-hop songs just like they listen to today.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for both products is $19.95. Jam Trax and Super Duper Music Looper software are now available from retail stores, online vendors, and Sony Media. For more information, please visit: www.sony.com/mediasoftware.
