VH1 Classic Marks the 36th Anniversary of Woodstock With a Weekend Marathon of the Music Documentary That Chronicled the Three-Day Music Festival
Rare Interviews from 'The Dick Cavett Show' With Woodstock Artists Will Also Air Throughout the Weekend

On August 15, 1969, 500,000 young people converged on Woodstock, New York for a three-day, generation-defining music festival that has come to symbolize the music, the political ideology and the social changes of the late 1960s.
VH1 Classic celebrates the 36th anniversary of that seminal event with a marathon of the movie "Woodstock" this weekend Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 and rare interviews from "The Dick Cavett Show" featuring the biggest artists of the era the day after the historic event.
The musical documentary "Woodstock" covers the three-day 1969 music festival on the property of Max Yasger's farm that featured music icons of the era including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Ten Years After and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in only their second live appearance ever, Santana, Sly and The Family Stone, Sha-Na-Na, Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens and Joan Baez also appear in the film.
Also throughout the weekend, VH1 Classic will air interviews from an historic episode of "The Dick Cavett Show" the day after the concert at Woodstock. David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Joni Mitchell and Jefferson Airplane all stopped by to discuss their experiences. Long regarded as TV's most intelligent talk show, "The Dick Cavett Show" was also the late-night TV home of the biggest names in rock and roll.
