Second Dora The Explorer CD To Include New Recordings of Classic Songs and Duets With Los Lonely Boys and Carlos Santana
NEW YORK, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, October 11th, Nick Records/Sony BMG Strategic Marketing Group will release Dora the Explorer Dance Fiesta!, their second Dora the Explorer CD. With ten upbeat tracks, the enhanced CD is packed with timeless, fun and danceable songs that kids and moms already know and love, such as "Celebration," "Locomotion," "La Bamba," "Get On Your Feet" and "We Are Family," sung by Dora and her friends Backpack, Diego, Boots, Swiper and The Map. In addition, Dora the Explorer Dance Fiesta! will feature two duets with Grammy Award Winners Carlos Santana and Los Lonely Boys.
"La Bamba is a song we've known our whole lives," said Henry Garza of Los Lonely Boys. "We used to be invited on stage with our father's band to sing that song when we were children. So recording the song for Dora brings it all full circle. A song that children respond to and being a song from our past is a blast to share."
Dora the Explorer Dance Fiesta! also features an exclusive music video for "Everyone Can Dance" from the "Dora Dance to the Rescue" DVD, which will be released simultaneously on October 11, distributed by Paramount Home Video. "Dora Dance to the Rescue" will then make its broadcast debut on Nick Jr. on Friday, November 11.
The previous Dora CD, Dora The Explorer, released September 2004, has scanned in excess of 250K units and climbed its way to #1 on the Children's Chart. It has remained in the Top 20 on the Children's Chart for over 40 weeks!
Nick Jr.'s Dora the Explorer has been the #1 preschool show on commercial television for over three years. The program chronicles the life of Dora, an animated seven-year old Latina heroine whose adventures take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rainforests. In each episode, Dora teaches a Spanish word or phrase to the viewers and then asks them to use it to solve a problem.
In keeping with the show's commitment to bilingual content, Dora the Explorer Dance Fiesta! features popular songs in both Spanish and English. Just as the show is designed to engage its audience in an interactive quest using a variety of learning techniques, Dora the Explorer Dance Fiesta! is also designed to be interactive, energetic and fun, and will similarly inspire and entertain young minds.
