Chicago's Own Jeremy Piven Nominated Today for Best Supporting Actor, Comedy
Series for Entourage to Host
What: HBO is joined by The Leg Room and Bacardi for the Chicago
promotional party to celebrate the success of the HBO hit
series, Entourage.
From executive producer Mark Wahlberg, the hit comedy series
Entourage kicked off its second season Sunday, June 5,
8:00 p.m. CT, exclusively on HBO. Drawing on the experiences of
industry insiders, Entourage explores the world of Vince, a sexy
young movie star whose career is just taking off. To share the
fun of the ride and keep him grounded, Vince looks to Eric,
Drama and Turtle, his longtime pals from Queens. Together, they
experience the highs and lows of life in the fast lane of
Hollywood, where the stakes are higher, and the money and
temptations greater, than ever before.
Returning regulars on ENTOURAGE include Kevin Connolly, Adrian
Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Chicago's own, Jeremy
Piven who plays Ari, Vince's aggressive, high-powered agent, who
clashes with Eric over his client's decisions.
Entourage is created by Doug Ellin; executive produced by Mark
Wahlberg, Doug Ellin, Stephen Levinson and Larry Charles; co-
executive producer, Chris Henchy; producers, Mark Greenberg,
Wayne Carmona, Rob Weiss, Janace Tashjian; supervising producer,
Julian Farino; co-producer, Brian Burns.
HBO received 93 Primetime Emmy nominations, the most of all
networks for the fifth year in a row, for the upcoming 57th
Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which were announced today in Los
Angeles.
Who: Jeremy Piven was nominated in the category of best supporting
actor in a comedy series for his portrayal of Ari Jacobs in the
HBO series Entourage. He received a 2005 Golden Globe nomination
for the same role. Piven has graced the big screen in over 40
films including Chasing Liberty, Scary Movie 3, Runaway Jury,
Old School, Serendipity, Black Hawk Down, Very Bad Things, Rush
Hour 2 and The Family Man. On the small screen Piven has been a
series regular on "Cupid" and "Ellen" and has appeared on "The
Larry Sanders Show" and in the telepic "Don King: Only in
America".
Piven was born and raised in Chicago where his parents founded
the Piven Theatre Workshop. His father, Byrne, taught the likes
of John and Joan Cusack, Roseanna Arquette and Aidan Quinn.
Jeremy is still very active with this Theatre and returns to
Chicago frequently to help keep his father's dream alive.
